Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
Europe Quest respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use the Europe Quest website and Web App, why it is used, and the rights available to you.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Europe Quest, we may process:
- Contact and purchase information: name and email address provided when you make a purchase or otherwise contact us.
- Order information: purchased quests, number of players, order details, invoice information and related transaction records.
- Game information: unique game-session identifiers, quest progress, answers submitted, hints used, score and timing information associated with a game session.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, operating system, date and time of requests, pages or resources requested, and technical/error log information generated when the website or Web App is used.
- Cookie and similar technology information: information stored or read through cookies or similar technologies where these are used for functionality, preferences, analytics or other purposes.
We do not ask you to provide information that is not necessary for the relevant Europe Quest service.
2. How we use information
We use personal and technical information to:
- process and administer purchases;
- provide access to purchased quests and individual player game sessions;
- maintain game progress and provide the Web App functionality;
- issue and maintain invoices and order records;
- respond to support or other enquiries;
- operate, secure and troubleshoot the website and Web App;
- detect misuse, fraud, security incidents and technical problems;
- understand and improve the performance and usability of Europe Quest where analytics are used lawfully.
We do not use information collected through a contact enquiry to add you to a marketing mailing list unless you separately subscribe or otherwise provide the required consent.
3. Legal basis
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process personal data on an appropriate legal basis depending on the purpose. This may include performance of a contract when processing an order or providing a purchased game, compliance with a legal obligation where records must be retained, legitimate interests for operating and securing the service, and consent where consent is required.
4. Cookies and analytics
Europe Quest may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for the operation of the website and Web App. Where non-essential cookies or analytics require consent under applicable law, they will only be used on the appropriate legal basis and consent can be withdrawn where applicable.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.
5. Game sessions and unique links
When a quest is purchased, Europe Quest may create unique game-session identifiers or links so that each player can access an individual session. Gameplay information is associated with the relevant game session so that players can continue and complete their own quest.
A player should not share a personal game-session link publicly, because anyone with access to that link may be able to access the associated game session.
6. Payment information
Europe Quest may use third-party payment services to process payments. Payment card or other payment credentials are handled by the applicable payment provider rather than being stored by Europe Quest, except for information that the provider or Europe Quest is permitted or required to retain for transaction records.
The specific payment methods and providers available may change from time to time.
7. Service providers
We may use trusted service providers that process information on our behalf, for example providers supporting hosting, database infrastructure, payment processing, analytics, security, email or other technical services. Such providers receive only the information necessary for the service they provide and are expected to handle personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.
8. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the service, maintaining order and invoice records, resolving disputes, preventing abuse and complying with legal obligations.
Technical/error logs may be retained for a limited period appropriate to security and operational needs.
9. International transfers
Some service providers may process data in countries outside the European Economic Area. Where applicable law requires safeguards for such transfers, appropriate safeguards will be used.
10. Your rights
Where GDPR or other applicable data-protection law applies, you may have the right to:
- request access to personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of personal data where the legal requirements are met;
- request restriction of processing in applicable circumstances;
- object to certain processing;
- receive data in a portable format where the right to data portability applies;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection supervisory authority.
Requests concerning your personal data can be sent to: admin@europequest.app
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a data-rights request.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. Third-party websites
The Europe Quest website may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. Their own privacy policies and terms should be reviewed before using their services.
13. Children
Europe Quest is intended for use by adults and groups participating in city activities. If you believe that a child has provided personal data to Europe Quest in circumstances where this was not appropriate, please contact us so that we can review the situation.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, data practices or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
